The french label The kooples was launched by three brothers in 2008. Since then, it’s a success story.
Each season, I like the “new classic” of the house which has, as they say, ”a vicious precision in lean shoulders, narrow sleeves, knife-edge tailoring”. But the originality of the label is also its ingenious marketing strategy to promote the collections around the concept of the couples. The models are ordinary couples who “The Kooples” picks up directly from the streets in Paris, Berlin, Londres, Amsterdam… or on social networks like myspace, facebook… The label has also launched “The kooples record”, a great initiative which gives the oppotunity to musicians who are in couple to present their own music. Now, let me show you their autumn/winter collection which is strongly inspired from the 30s and 80s. “It steals gunmetal grey from the Paris rooftops, finds Royal Navy blues in the waters of the Canal Saint Martin. Bloody Bordeaux reds are blotted by the discreet green of the Chesterfield in a Pall Mall Club”.  |
